FRIDAY’S FIVE | GOODBYE SUMMER, HELLO FALL!

FRIDAY’S FIVE | GOODBYE SUMMER, HELLO FALL!

{GETTING MY FIRST PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE OF THE SEASON}

{ENJOYING MY NEW DESK SET UP FOR SCHOOL}

{MY FIRST STONEY CLOVER PURCHASE}

{ GETTING SOME HAPPY MAIL IN TIME FOR SPOOKY SEASON}

{STARTING TO PUT OUT SOME FALL DECOR}

To say that this has been a week is an understatement! I not only started school BUT I also fractured my toe which has been stressful in itself. In this Friday’s Five I am choosing to focus on all the good things that happened this week!

I don’t know about you but I absolutely love Fall. I love everything about the season and everything pumpkin related! I enjoyed my first (of many) pumpkin spice lattes and savored every sing sip. You can get my cozy here. I also started decorating for fall regardless of people telling me “it’s too early”…it’s NEVER too early in my opinion! HA! I also received some fun Halloween graphic tees that I ordered a few weeks back from Hella Cute Co. Talk about a great way to kick off the season!

In one of my previous posts (link here) I talked about how last semester I was unprepared and didn’t have a desk for school at home. I upped my game and finally invested in this gorgeous desk from World Market (currently on sale) that I am in love with. It is the perfect size and it is so versatile! I can honestly say that this desk is everything to me right now. Only a week in and having this desk has made my life 1000% better in comparison to last semester.

The most exciting thing for me (happy mail wise) was this Stoney Clover Lane travel pouch. I have loved this brand for so long but could never really justify the expense. I decided to treat myself and get me a pouch and I love it! The patches on it were from the LoveShackFancy collaboration they have and I can’t wait to use this for travel someday. In the meantime I am going to store all my face masks in it!

Are you getting excited for Fall and/or Halloween? I honestly can’t wait! I have so many things I want to do and I really can’t wait for cooler weather.

FRIDAYS FIVE | SUMMER LOVIN’

FRIDAYS FIVE | SUMMER LOVIN’

-A BLOWUP POOL TO SIT IN ALL SUMMER-

-A LUXUROUS BREAKFAST-

– MY NEW FAVORITE SUMMER GRAPHIC TEE-

-MAKING PINA COALADS AND PUTTING THEM IN THESE GLASSES-

-SUNSET WALKS ON THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STREET-

Guys, honestly last week I was not feeling it. It was the Fourth and my heart wasn’t in it. I seriously thought that I was going to go into a sad spiral but much to my surprise my mood did yer opposite. I have fully embraced the summer season and I am lovin’ every second of it!

I recently purchased a super cute blowup pool and set it up in my cousins backyard and I have been living in it lately.I sadly can’t have a pool because I live in an apartment and There is no sun on my patio (it’s covered with a balcony). I have been soaking up every ounce of sun I can including going on gorgeous sunset walks with my boyfriend and talking the whole time.

I also have been enjoying a Pina Colada (recipe here) pretty frequently and some Persian inspired breakfasts. I have been enjoying my time off from work and school to the best I can. It has been a long time since I’ve had a summer off from life and I am determined to savor every moment. Obviously there is A LOT that I can’t do right now but I am still loving what I can do.

How have you been spending your summer time lately? I am so determined to create a pool oasis for not only myself but for everyone who lives in my cousins house.

FRIDAYS FIVE | FEELING INSPIRED

FRIDAYS FIVE | FEELING INSPIRED

– PAINTING A PRESENT FOR A FRIEND-

-PEONY SEASON AT TRADER JOES-

-FINALLY GETTING MY PRINTS ON THE WALL-

-MAGNETIC FALSIES THAT I’M OBSESSED WITH-

-MAKING A NEW COKTAIL-

This week I have FINALLY been feeling more like myself! It only took some social media detoxing and a lot of Animal Crossing. I started working on a painting for one of my bestfriends (for her birthday in June)…its her puppy! I grew up painting and being, well, very into art making and it has been a good long while since I have gone back to my roots. It felt very cathartic and I was super impressed that I didn’t forget how to do it, HA!

On my weekly grocery trips to Trader Joe’s I always keep my eyes out for peonies. Peony season is my FAVORITE time of year and ever since it started I have been buying myself some to display in my living room. They honestly make me so happy every time I see them! They are my favorite flowers and it adds such a homey touch to a pretty boring space (which I’m working on jazzing up).

Speaking of jazzing things up, I have been working on updating my bedroom to become my oasis. I live in a small apartment and my room is really small. Ever since I moved in I have never loved my room. That is starting to change. I have been doing a little too much home decor shopping lately but TBH spending this much time at home deserves some new home decor. I recently bought frames for my prints that I got two months ago and put them up. I LOVE them! They create an escape that my mind desperately needs some days.

I have been starting to wear more makeup and actually put effort into getting ready. I recently found (through a friend) Moxielash! They are magnetic strip lashes and they are AH-mazing. I don’t mind my natural lashes but I hate wearing mascara. Last year for my friend’s wedding I ended up getting lash extensions. I had them from October until December. I really miss having extensions and these lashes are the closest thing to them! Plus they are sooo easy to apply and remove!

My boyfriend and I have been trying to eat out twice a week and support some of our local favorite spots. We recently went to get a nice steak dinner and I was inspired to create and equally nice cocktail for us to have with dinner. I decided to try making a Manhattan and I loved it! I am now so inspired to try making more old school drinks.

What has been inspiring you lately? I would love to know so please leave me a comment down below!

FRIDAY’S FIVE | TAKING TIME FOR ME

FRIDAY’S FIVE | TAKING TIME FOR ME

-some Easter goodies from one of my favorite shops-

-trying out some new face masks-

-doing activities that bring me peace-

– enjoying the rainy weather in all its glory –

– enjoying all the candles I have stashed away –

This week has been a much slower pace and place of mind. The past two weeks I was trying to stay super busy, as to not get bored, and I decided that I deserved a break physically and mentally. I think in such scary times it is really important to take time for your mental well being and I was completely neglecting that.

During this rainy, gloomy week I have been enjoying things I love but normally don’t get to do because Im typically not home when it rains. I have been enjoying relaxing on the couch, binging Hulu and coloring in my adult coloring books. I also have been enjoying my coffee every morning more so then normal. I usually am doing multiple things while getting my caffeine fix but this week I have been leisurely drinking it.

I recently placed an order from Shop A to Z on Instagram that was an Easter mystery egg and I received them in the mail! They are so cute and were definitely what the doctor ordered. I typically spend easter at Disneyland with my family but obviously that is not happening this year due to Coronavirus. We usually do their Easter egg hunt and have been collecting the eggs ever since. So, getting some sort of Easter egg is super special and definitely gives me some normalcy during this time (and happiness).

I have been focusing a lot on my skincare this week (which I haven’t done in FOREVER). I have been trying out some Trader Joe’s face masks that have been in my bathroom since December. It feels so good to just leisurely do my skincare and have it not feel like “a thing I have to do before bed or after work”. I feels like a luxury and I am loving it!

I’m sure this will come as no surprise but I have a large stash of Bath and Body Works candles. I typically love to burn them in the fall and winter. Unfortunately I was so busy during those times that I didn’t have a chance to really enjoy them. Well I am making up for lost time! I have been burning candles like there is no tomorrow and have been loving every second of it!

I hope that you are all finding ways of getting in some me time during this past week and I am also hoping you have a wonderful Easter! This Easter will be extremely different for a lot of us and I think it is helpful to try and find those silver linings and focus on the positive!

FRIDAY’S FIVE |STAYING POSITIVE DURING QUARANTINE

FRIDAY’S FIVE |STAYING POSITIVE DURING QUARANTINE

-going for a walk in the beautiful Spring weather and getting fresh air-

-discovering a new coffee drink thanks to TikTok-

-finally investing in some AirPods-

– playing with my room decor and using books as a fun element-

-sprucing up my patio with some new herbs-

I am actively trying to find ways to stay positive (and not completely freak out over what is happening in the world). I have decided to try a Friday’s Five to look back at my week and think about all the wonderful things that have happened throughout my week as well as things that have been keeping me sane.

I am officially just past the two week mark or self-isolation. I have had some pretty rough days; I’m not going to lie. There was one day where I was in the worst mood ever because it felt like nothing was going right and I felt very “caged-in” at home. On the whole though, I have been doing pretty good.

This past week I have really appreciated going for a nice long walk in the beautiful Spring weather. It honestly put me in such a good mood! The fresh air, migrating butterflies everywhere, and all the trees made for the perfect afternoon. It was so nice not being cooped up in my apartment for a little bit and spending some time with my favorite pup. I also have been trying to spruce up my patio because TBH I have let it go this past year and was looking real sad. I bought some herbs from Lowes and Home Depot to plant and hopefully enjoy over the next month of isolation.

On the home front, I have discovered a new fave (quick and easy) coffee recipe courtesy of TikTok! It is a whipped coffee and I am loving it. I also have been tinkering with my bedroom decor. I want to make it my perfect little relaxation haven to retreat to when I can’t (or don’t want) to be in the common spaces of the apartment. I have been loving taking all my books out of storage boxes and implementing them as decor in my room!

I recently made an investment and purchased some AirPods Pro. I didn’t have any headphones (thanks to my wire chewing cat) and it honestly was weighing on me. I have to do video lectures for school and every Sunday I have a virtual game night with friends all over the country. Not having headphones was a struggle because I was annoying everyone that I lived with. Now that I have some I honestly have improved my well-being! I absolutely love them and I love that there are different size earbuds and noise cancelation.

Thank you so much for taking some time to read and I hope you all are finding ways to stay safe during this stressful and scary time. Stay safe out there friends!
