Every month I try to read a handful of books. I have so much fun sharing my love of reading on TikTok and Instagram that I thought I would try out writing posts about my monthly TBR’s. For the month of October, I read four books– The Kingdom of the Feared, The Ballad of Never After, The Ex Hex, and Scarred. This is a no spoiler post, so all descriptions and thoughts down below are safe for all to read!

Kingdom of the Feared is the third and final book in the Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy. This series starts off as YA Fantasy and by the third book turns into New Adult Fantasy. I really enjoyed this series as a whole and love the setting of this book. It is a great read for fall/spooky season and it will make you want to constantly eat cannolis.

Genre: New Adult

The sequel to Once Upon A Broken Heart. This book was quite the journey. So many ups-and-downs plot wise and emotionally. I flew through this book faster than I care to admit. Fair warning, the ending is a cliffhanger and will make you want to throw your book at the wall. BUT, the good news is that there is going to be another book to look forward to in the future.

Genre: Young Adult

This was such a fun and cute read. It reminded me of practical magic meets Gilmore Girls. It’s about a couple that fall in love in college, but it was short lived. Years later they are forced back together to help save a college town after a curse gone wrong, but it’s not the curse you think it is! This book will make you laugh and give you the feels.

Genre: Romance

This is a dark retelling of Sleeping Beauty. It’s about brother princes, and girl who has one mission– kill the king. When she finally gets to the castle she never expected to fall in love with the scarred prince. I really liked this book, and I especially liked the different points of view.

Genre: Romance

As soon as I knew I was going to Oogie Boogie Bash this year, the costume planning begun. I always look forward to picking out a costume every year, and since I’ve gotten older, I have become very into DIY costumes.

I had never dressed as anything from Hocus Pocus before so I decided this was the year to do it! I decided to dress up as Dani in her Halloween costume.

My strategy was to find affordable pieces that I could embellish to make my costume.I purchased the skirt, turtle neck, hat, and orange fringe from Amazon. I bought a mens XL shirt from Target for super cheap because I knew I would be cutting and painting it. The ribbon I purchased at Michaels.

I do want to preface with I have zero sewing skills, so I am sure there are much better versions of this out there, but I really like what I accomplished. I decided to loosely “sew” on the ribbons to the skirt so I could remove them later and just have a black skirt for everyday use.

This was my first time experiencing Oogie Boogie Bash. I had previously attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland, but once they changed it and moved it to DCA I have not attended. After the parks were closed in 2020-2021, I decided after having major fomo last year that I would be attending this year. With that being said, here is a run down of Oogie Boogie Bash and my experience at the party.

There are many treat trails scattered throughout the park that feature characters. They trails are so fun and interactive, and each trail is unique to the character it features. My favorites were Mim, Oogie Boogie, and Agatha. I was only Able to go through half of the trails due to timing, but I still came home with a full bag of treats.

One of the perks of attending Oogie Boogie Bash is the limited capacity, which translates to short ride lines. We were able to walk onto all the major attractions except for Radiator Racers and Toy Story Mania. I highly recommend, if you are willing and able, to do Guardians. For Halloween, it gets transformed into Monsters after Dark and it is such a blast. We had an awesome cast member who really made the ride fun.

The parade is the same from Mickey’s Not So Scary, so if you are willing to skip it, I would. We ended up wasting a lot of time by being at the end of the parade route, but the parade is short so we were able to squeeze in the interactive walkthrough before the party ended.

Located in the Redwood Creek Trail is Villains Grove. It is a Villian inspired interactive walkthrough experience. The line was continually long through out the party. I will say the line does move quickly and it is a really cool walkthrough. However, it is shorter than I expected and I am glad we did this last.

  • Character Trails
  • Rides
  • Vilian’s Grove Walk Through

  • Do the treat trails first instead of between rides
  • Skip the parade
  • Do rides after treat trails during the first parade

  • Bring a backpack to put your candy bags in to go on rides
  • If you’re in it for the candy, bring a tote bag to trick-or-treat with
  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Eat before the party starts

I had a fun time at the party, but I still prefer the one that use to be at Disneyland. I definitely think it is worth the money for the low ride wait times and the fun character experiences. I probably won’t be going every year, but I do see myself attending again sometime in the future.

{A Downtown Disney date night with my boyfriend to start the week}

{Seeing the miniature rice crispy model of Batuu at the Grand}

{Spending the morning at Disneyland on May the 4th and soaking in the vibes of Batuu}

{Getting in some castle views while finally wearing my baby Yoda top}

{Enjoying Star Wars treats for a fun date night watching A New Hope and Rouge One}

I can’t believe how fast this week has gone by. I love when May 4th comes around, but it honestly is SUCH a busy week for me because my mom’s birthday is on the 6th and then this Sunday is Mother’s Day.

I love to squeeze in as much Star Wars things as I can before the festivities switch over to my mom. Last year I was not able to go to Disneyland so I made sure I was there this year. I started off the week with an impromptu date night at Downtown Disney. We had dinner, Salt and Straw, and then headed into the Grand to look at the amazing Batuu display.

Then on Wednesday, My friend and I headed out to Disneyland and soaked in all things Star Wars with a bunch of other people. I honestly felt like everyone was dressed for the occasion and everyone seemed to be in a really good mood. It was such a fun morning with her, and I even got to finally meet with one of my instagram friends which was the cherry on top of it all!

That night, my boyfriend and I watched two Star Wars movies and enjoyed some blue milk with our Grogu cupcakes. It was the perfect way to end the day.

Bright suns!

I am so excited because today is May the 4th. I love Star Wars, and after not being able to go to Disneyland last year on this day, I made sure I was going today.

While out sitting in Batuu, I thought it would be fun to put together a little Amazon shopping guide for you all about Star Wars. Here are some cute things to add to your cart to feed your dark side (or light side– I don’t discriminate).

How cute are the star hair pins? I think this is such a fun, subtle way to add some Star Wars flair to your everyday. I also love the pork keychain. I actually have him, and he really is the cutest.

One of my other favorite ways to add some Star Wars in my daily routine is to have some drink ware. I love a good mug, and you really can’t go wrong with whichever one you get!

I hope you are having a great Wednesday, and May the 4th be with you.

I can’t believe tomorrow is May 4th already! I am so excited to be spending the morning at Disneyland soaking in all the Batuu vibes. I originally wanted to go to the Star Wars event Disneyland is hosting that evening, but if I’m being honest, I couldn’t afford tickets. SO, a morning trip to Batuu and my favorite ice coffee is just what the doctor ordered.

I thought it would be fun to share some outfit inspiration for everyone who loves May the 4th as much as I do. Here are three outfits I would wear to the May the 4th event at Disneyland if I was going.

This outfit is so cute and definitely caters to my more comfy, relaxed side. I am calling this my Endor outfit because of the graphic tee, like how cute?!

Next up is my dark side outfit. I love how minimal this outfit is with only black and white elements. It’s so cute and I probably will wear this at some point in Galaxy’s Edge when it’s nice and hot outside.

For my last outfit, I wanted something sparkly and a little fancy. If I am going to be wandering around Batuu at night, I think sparkly stars are a must. I paired it with this super cute “Cutie Batuutie” tee and some sparkly blue ears to match the blue milk I will be drinking. I also took the tie from my dress and tied it in my hair.

I would love to know which outfit is your favorite and if you are attending the May the 4th event, so leave me a comment down below!

At the end of March/beginning of April, I was fortunate to be able to travel to Barcelona, Spain with my boyfriend. We had the most amazing time and honestly fell in love with this amazing city.

I wanted to create a short guide of everything that I feel are top musts when going. If you want a more in-depth look at each day I have created posts for each one– day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4, and day 5– just click on the day you want to read about!

I love a good hotel, but when it came down to finding lodging for Barcelona, I wanted something with a great view and close to transportation. I ultimately found a great Airbnb two blocks away from the Sagrada Familia. We had a whole apartment to ourselves, and a view of the cathedral from our balcony.

The transportation in Barcelona is amazing! You can literally get anywhere by bus or metro. Before you start thinking “eww dirty”, let me be the first to put those thoughts at ease. Barcelona is an extremely clean city, including the public transportation. I never once felt like I was sitting in a can of germs while being on the bus or metro.

I did a lot of research about the public transportation in Barcelona and I found that the Hola Barcelona Card was the best option. It was super affordable and gives you access to all public transportation systems.

We were in Barcelona for five days (not including two travel days). I planned pretty much the entire trip on my own with the help of Google and YouTube. Here are some things that I think are a must when you are in Barcelona:

{ Pants | Shoes | Sweater | Jacket | Purse | Sunglasses }

Sagrada Familia– make sure you do a tour. We did a guided tour in the morning and it was really nice being able to ask questions and hear stories from the perspective of someone who lives in Barcelona.

{ Jacket | Shirt | Jeans | Purse }

Palau de la Musica– This place was stunning! We did an audio tour and were very lucky to be there while someone was warming up on the organ inside. This is the type of place that could only exist in Spain and it definitely should not be missed. There is also a great little cafe downstairs for an afternoon espresso and sandwich.

Parc Guell– This is probably one of the most iconic places in Barcelona. I never realized how big this park actually is, so I would allow for a few hours here to explore and see all the amazing pieces that make up this park.

Parc de laberint d’horta– This park is like a hidden gem that I never really came across in any of my research before the trip. I happened to just see it on a map and Googled it. It is only a few euros to get into and it is well worth it. There is a full hedge maze in the center which was fun to wander around with several locals. There are also numerous reflecting pools, statutes, fountains, and gardens surrounding the maze.

Casa Batlló– This house was so unique and beautiful. I highly recommend taking the audio tour. It was such an interesting experience because the tour is from the perspective of the house talking about the family who lived there and the architect, Gaudi. I loved all the blues and the intricate details of this house. It was such a fun few hours feeling what it would be like living in the city of Barcelona.

The Gothic Quarter– One of the best free things you can do is explore the gothic quarter. If you go to Spain and expect ancient, historical, fairytale vibes– this is your place to experience that. We loved walking around all the small streets and shops in the gothic quarter, and we will probably forever reminisce about it until the day we can go back.

My boyfriend was mostly in charge of the dinners on this trip and we ended up mostly at tapas bars (which honestly was so fun). Here are the places that were stand outs to me.

Dulcinea– You have to go experience a Swiss drinking chocolate with melindros. They are *chef’s kiss*. This was my favorite thing I had in the city and if/when I go back, I will be enjoying this treat daily.

Bodega La Palma– This tapas bar had the best bravas and croquets I had the entire trip. I really regret not going back a second time to get some.

Can Ramonet– This paella was EVERYTHING! We shared the vegetable paella, and I’m not ashamed to admit I ate almost the whole thing by myself.

La Cova Furmada– I have two words of advice for this place: be early and order the bombas. Seriously, get there early because they close around 2pm and they will turn a giant line of people away. The bombas are the most delicious things ever; I recommend ordering at least 1 per person. The sangria was also very delicious.

Hofmann Bakery– For all my pastry lovers out there, do yourself a favor and go to Hofmann’s. They have the most delicious croissant filled with mascarpone cheese and is covered in a glaze. It’s so good you won’t want to share, trust me on this one. Like really though, get one to have all to yourself!

I am sad to say that this was my last day in Barcelona. This was also one of my favorite days in the city. It was a beautiful Saturday and the sun finally decided to brace us with her presence. I honestly couldn’t have ask for a better day.

We started off by going to Hoffmann Bakery and grabbing the most delicious croissant I have ever had in my life. We sat in the little street behind the bakery and just ate our pastries while watching the people go about their day. It was such a good start to the day.

From Hoffman we walked to the Parc de la Ciutadella.

We walked around this gorgeous park while families and puppies played in the grass around us. We came upon the most gorgeous fountain at the end of the park and decided to stop and take pictures and overall just soak in the magic. It was like stepping back in time.

From the park, we headed to the Arc de Triomf. It was so large and so so pretty. Unfortunately it was blocked off for some event so I had to make lemonade out of lemons to get a cute picture. I literally climbed up a giant lamppost, but it is my favorite picture and I have zero regrets.

We then headed out for lunch. If I haven’t mentioned this before, my boyfriend was in chard go 90% of the food places. We did a lot of tapas bars and I feel like it was such a fun experience hopping around them. There was only one time when we had some trouble getting into one and it was on this day.

We wanted to get La Cova Furmada for lunch after seeing them on a YouTube video during our research. We did not expect to wait about an hour to get in and be one of the last parties that were let in before they closed down. We felt very lucky to have made it through the threshold and get to taste the deliciousness that are bombas. I had the pan con tomato, bombas (little potato balls with seasoned beef), and sangria. All delicious!

After Lunch we did some shopping in the streets of Barcelona. We found some souvenirs for family and friends, we visited a very old nougat shop, and we bought some treats from Casa Gispert.

We stopped by our Airbnb to drop off our goodies and headed to our last destination for the day– Parc del Laberint d’Horta.

This park was something out of a fairytale. It was a labyrinth park built for some princess forever ago and was just STUNNING. We spent all afternoon wandering the maze and exploring all the little secret gardens. I honestly felt like I was in Bridgerton and needed to be in a dress holding an old book with a parasol.

We decided to get dinner to-go and head back to our Airbnb very early because we had to wake up at 4am to get to the airport.

And just like that our Barcelona trip was over. I hope you enjoyed my day recaps of my trip and I will be creating a Barcelona guide in the next week or so.

We were very lucky the sun decided to come out, but it was still freezing. I am definitely glad that I packed layer able pieces on this trip. We started our morning off by exploring Parc Guell. It is probably THE most famous park in Barcelona and I now fully understand why. Not only is this park beautiful, but its also massive which I didn’t realize until I was trying to find the famous mosaic bench and got lost.

This park has so may perfect spots for pictures that my boyfriend and I got a little carried away with taking pictures (no regrets though).

After Parc Guell we decided to grab a coffee and then we were off to our next destination.

We took an audio tour of Sant Pau Hospital and were literally blown away. First of all, this hospital seems more like a palace and was gorgeous. Secondly, this hospital was gigantic with something like 13 different buildings not including the newer still functioning hospital.

Once we finished with our tour, we headed back to our Airbnb to rest a little. Later on we headed back to the gothic quarter to do some shopping where I picked up a pair of handmade espadrilles to take home. I also convinced my boyfriend to get Melindros and Swiss chocolate before dinner.

We headed to the beach to get some paella for dinner. This was probably my favorite meal and I honestly wish I had it one more time before we left.

We had an early night in because we were so exhausted from walking so much and it was in the 40’s by the time we finished dinner. I had absolutely no objections to turning in early for a warm shower and a cozy bed.

We spent most of the morning walking around the Sagrada Familia, and we took a guided tour there as well. The parks outside were gorgeous and we definitely got there early before our tour to walk around and take some pictures. Luckily we were staying a block away, and we were actually able to sleep in which was nice.

After Sagrada Familia we headed over to Casa Batlló.

This beautiful house was designed by Gaudi and it was honestly one of my favorite places we toured. We did a self guided audio tour which was really nice because we were able to take our time in the rooms and take pictures. This whole house was inspired by the Mediterranean ocean and I absolutely loved all the blues.

After Casa Batlló we headed over to Pueblo Espanyol to see a Flamenco show.

We got there about an hour early and we took the opportunity to walk around this little city. It was so cool because it essentially is all of Spain in one city block and each area represented a different area of Spain.

Once it was time to check in for our show, we headed inside and sat down for our tapas.

The show was amazing and there was actually a massive thunderstorm while it happened and it added to the intensity of the show.

After the show we headed out to a bar for a nightcap and then went straight to our Airbnb for a good night of sleep.

The second day of my trip it was very cold a rainy. Luckily, the morning was spent looking through the beautiful Museu Nacional d’Art while it rained. I honestly love a good rainy day spent inside of a museum. This one was beyond beautiful…literally like walking through a castle.

By the time we were done wandering around the different wings, and had some lunch, the rain had stopped.

We then headed out of the city on the metro to go up to the Monserrat Monestary. We took the cable cars up the mountain and I honestly wouldn’t have wanted to go up any other way. The views were breathtaking!

We walked around the museum and then headed over to the basilica. This was a such a cool experience and I am so glad we decided to do it.

After we walked around all the buildings, we ended up exploring the outside areas a bit. There are a lot of hiking trails, but we didn’t do them as we went later in the afternoon and it was very cold.

The views from everywhere you went were so pretty. I definitely feel like if you are scared of heights this might not be for you.

We caught the last cable car down the mountain and headed back into the city. We ended the night with an early dinner and passed out from exhaustion.

I did so much when I was in Spain that I have decided to break it down and do it by day. I will also create a guide to Barcelona for those of you who want just a highlighted version of the favorite things I did!

The first full day in Barcelona might have been one of my favorites of the trip. There is nothing like wandering around a new place and getting lost in the streets.

We started our day off with an early tour of the Palau de la Musica.

This beautiful concert hall was absolutely beautiful. I loved the architecture inside and it has my favorite ceiling of all time inside. I also love the mosaic pillars on the balcony outside the second floor.

After our tour we wandered around the gothic quarter where we stumbled upon the Barcelona Cathedral. We didn’t go inside but we did spend a good amount of time looking at every Ince of the building from the outside. We then just walked around the narrow streets and alleys looking at all the amazing architecture.

We ended out the day with a trip to Dulcinea for Swiss drinking chocolate and melindros. This is one of my favorite things I ate on my trip and I am still daydreaming about them now. After having these, we went onto dinner at Bodega La Palma where I enjoyed my fist bravas and ham croquets.

The jet lag was very evident to us on our first day and we were exhausted by the end of it. So we had an early night and got lots of rest because the rest of our days were jam packed with activities.

I can’t believe I have been home for almost a week. Barcelona was a dream trip and it went by way too fast.

I am still fighting some jet lag and trying to get back on California time, so while I wait for my body to re-adjust I wanted to show you some of my outfits from Spain. There will be more posts to come, but I need more time to get my thoughts together for them.

So, I hope you enjoy my outfit roundup from my week exploring Barcelona, Spain!

Because the weather was so cold, and windy, I ended up wearing more repeats that I had intended to. I will say that having pieces that mix and match well together makes traveling, and getting ready, SO much easier. I am very grateful I brought the layers I did or I probably would have froze.

I love adding smoothie to my diet, especially when the weather warms up. However, I don’t always want a fruit smoothie. Sometimes I want a smoothie that will curb my craving for a sugary snack while still providing nutrients.

I recently got the idea to re-create smoothies from popular brands and put my own twist on them.

Recently my favorite has been my “copycat” Daily Harvest mint chip smoothie.

  • 1 scoop greens powder (optional)
  • handful of spinach
  • 1 tbs cocoa nibs
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 3 drops peppermint extract
  • 1/2 banana, frozen
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean powder
  • 1 tbsp cashew butter
  • 1-3 drops liquid stevia (optional)

This smoothie has been helping me get in my greens, curb my dessert cravings, and it keeps me full between meals. I honestly feel like I am drinking a milkshake!

What is your go-to smoothie lately? Let me know in the comments below! I am always on the look-out for new recipes.

In about one month I leave for Spain!

I have so much to do before then– I have to figure out what to wear, figure out transportation, and figure out what I need to buy for a 23 hour travel day. Here are some of the things I have bought and want to buy for my long-haul flight.

I recently bought this neck pillow and I am honestly so excited to use it. This pillow can conform to pretty much any position you need for sleeping. I also need to buy an eye mask like this one for my flight. I tend to have trouble sleeping so I plan on buying some liquid IV sleep to help me out. My goal is to try and make the longest leg of my trip as comfortable as possible, so I plan on buying this foot hammock to help keep my blood circulating. The longest stretch I have on a plane is about 14 hours long. I bought these deodorant wipes to help keep me smelling fresh.

If you have any items you love when you travel please let me know! I am still searching for some gems.

I know it has been a while since I’ve had a heart-to-heart with you.

And not to make excuses, but life has been hard lately. Yes, I am going to Spain and I am very excited for it, BUT that doesn’t mean everything is sunshine and rainbows over here.

In January, I lost my uncle. It was a hard loss for my family and it’s a loss that we can’t even begin to navigate. He passed in the hospital, and due to COVID we weren’t allowed to see him which meant we never got to say goodbye.

A week later I learned that the business I have been working for the last seven years is closing permanently in March (like in a month). At the end of next month, my life will be completely different. I will have no steady income, no coworkers, and no more commute.

The same week I found out about my job, I learned that I have high cholesterol and have to loose about five to ten pounds and go on a diet.

It has been overwhelming for me to deal with all of these things all at once. I have honestly been clinging to all the good things in my life to help get me through. When things feel “too much” for me I always try to list five things I am grateful for and it always makes me feel better.

If you are going through a tough time in your life, please know you are not alone.

Even typing this out is so surreal…I am going to BARCELONA!

This trip was very unexpected, and is coming up very soon. I will be going at the end of March into early April (which is about two months from now). It has been a long time since I have traveled overseas and I am so excited. I also am slightly nervous to travel so far during COVID and I am also nervous that this trip could be canceled like all my trips in 2020. You can read about that in this post and this post.

I’m sure you are wondering how this trip came about because I stated it was unexpected. Long story short, my boyfriend recently had COVID. While he was confined to his room, I think he got a little bit of cabin fever and it amplified his travel bug. So, he randomly booked us flights to Barcelona for his spring break when he saw a flight deal come through to his email. I had no idea he was doing this; I just got a call one day on my way to work and he told me he bought flights.

I can’t wait to take you along on this trip with me! I will of course be sharing everything we do and see on our adventure. What types of things would like to see on this blog? I would love to share the things I want to get for the trip, but would love to know if there is anything you want to know so leave me a comment down below!

January is the first month of the year, and it usually a month to set goals and get your life together. I have done a lot of planning this past month, as well as cleaning and organizing. One of things I would like to do more of is sharing my Amazon purchases with all of you. I love finding things on Amazon, and I love seeing what other people buy. Here is what I bought this month on Amazon.

I realized I lack a lot of greens in my diet. While I do eat veggies and take vitamins, I felt like it wasn’t enough. I decided to try this greens powder out in a new smoothie (recipe coming soon) and I love it! I also love that this greens powder has probiotics in it too.

To go along with my new smoothie I bought this vanilla bean powder. I think its so fun and delicious. I can’t wait to add it to more things like blended coffee drinks and baked goods.

Speaking of smoothies, when the weather is warmer or I can finish one before I get out the door, I love making smoothies. I find they are so easy to prep and put together and they are delicious! However, I really struggle with taking them to-go because my blend jet cups have no lids and I find them cumbersome to tote about at work. I found these very aesthetic smoothie jars and they are a game changer. They have bonus points for being dishwasher safe too.

For Christmas I received a Nespresso machine and have been loving it. I especially love making lattes with the espresso pods. Since Spring is right around the corner I decided to get a Pistachio syrup and it is the most delicious syrup I think I have ever tasted. I also got this pump to go on the bottle for quick and easy dispensing.

My closet needs a little bit of updating. Over the past year I did a lot of purging, and I have a lot of holes in my wardrobe now. One area I really want to work on is my dresses. I feel like I only have summer and spring dresses, but none for cooler temperatures. I saw this dress and love how cozy it is. It can easily be dressed up with tights and boots or can be worn by itself with a pair of sneakers. I love having pieces that are versatile.

I honestly love finding things on Amazon. What did you buy recently that you love?

I picked up many things from being in quarantine in 2020. I learned how to make a good Manhattan, I learned to cross-stitch, and I also learned about a brand named Stoney Clover Lane.

I was introduced to SCL via Instagram, and instantly fell in love. When I found out that they had Disney patches, it was the nail in the proverbial coffin.

Fast forward to today, and I have quite the little collection started.

I get so many questions about all my pieces, both on Instagram and in-person, that I decided to make 3 separate posts to showcase what I have (and of course give you all the details).

Welcome to my Stoney Clover Lane Disney collection!

Let’s start with the basics.

I started off with only Mickey and Minnie patches because at the time, they were the only Disney patches SCL had. The hardest part for me was deciding what color to put them on. I ultimately ended up with “sky” for all of my Disney pieces because I really liked how they looked on the pastel blue, but the color also reminded me of retro Disneyland for some reason.

I have four main pieces: A mini pouch, a clear travel pouch, a fanny pack, and a classic backpack.

{Mini sized pouch in “sky” with Mickey 3″ patch}

{Clear travel pouch in “sky” with “HOME” rolled embroidered letters in “sky” with a 2″ Mickey patch}

{Classic fanny pack in “sky” with 3″ Mickey + Minnie patches}

{Classic backpack in “sky” with 5″ Mickey + Minnie patches}

I have used all of these in the park interchangeably and love them all. Not only can I use them as standalone pieces, but I love that they all can match and be a set if I want them to be.

Unfortunately these patches are no longer sold. When I bought mine, it was through a personal shopper for Walt Disney World. They were originally only sold at Fable gift shop at the Four Seasons Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Once SCL received a license to create more Disney products, they discontinued the Mickey and Minnie patches. Your best bet is to find a seller online through a Facebook group or if you don’t mind paying a lot, there is always Poshmark.

Do I have a small stash hidden away?! of course, but I am saving them for a rainy day!

The Princess collection came about towards the end of 2021. When it was first announced I was very excited, but once I saw the patterns my excitement went down a bit. I only really like the Cinderella print and the Belle print. I was very choosey when it came to this collection because I wanted to make sure I spent my money on items that I truly love and can see myself using multiple times.

I currently have five items: A carriage fanny pack, two scrunchies, and a glass slipper patch.

{“Seeing Stars” collection fanny pack in “cloud” (no longer available) with Cinderella carriage patch}

{Nylon Scrunchie in “Countdown to Midnight” print}

{Nylon Scrunchie in “Enchanted Beauty” print}

{Glass slipper patch}

I have plans to put my glass slipper on a mini to use in the parks as well as everyday. I also plan on adding to these items at some point. I would love to get a notebook in the Countdown to Midnight print for a planner sleeve as well as one in the “enchanted Beauty” print to use as a book sleeve.

Do you have anything SCL Disney? I would love to know what pieces you have and how they are customized (if they are) so please leave me a comment down below!

{Starting of the New Year with a quick trip to Disneyland}

{Getting in the last mickey gingerbread cookie until December}

{Enjoying my new Nespresso machine with shots of espresso in these cute cups}

{Feeling grateful for my vehicle after my last car was stolen this time last year}

{Adding to my TBR list with a trip to Barnes & Noble}

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 2022…

The first week of January has come and gone. Wow! It already feels like it’s flying by. I started off the New Year with a quick trip to Disneyland. I wanted to soak up the last bit of Christmas decor before the park transforms into Valentine’s Day. I also got to enjoy the last mickey gingerbread cookie of the holiday season. He was delicious!

For Christmas I got a Nespresso machine, and when I tell you I have an espresso shot (or two) every morning, it’s not a lie. I love making coffee in my new machine. What makes it even better are these super cute espresso mugs that have mickey shaped insides. I also have done some damage at Barnes & Noble with many a gift cards that I received for Christmas.

I have also taken a few moments this week to asses 2021, and look back at everything that has happened– both good and bad. One of the more major moments of last year was my car being stolen. It was definitely a moment in my life that felt like the tipping point. 2020 was really rough, and to start off 2021 with that was honestly harder. In retrospect, I now look at it as something that I overcame even though I didn’t think I would. Now I have a newer car, and while the check engine light has been on for longer than I like to admit, I am so grateful to even have a car.

As we head into 2022, I wish you all nothing but happiness in this new year, and that we all get through another year in this pandemic.

{Finishing up my Christmas shopping at Lido Marina}

{Drinking boozy peppermint hot chocolate while wrapping presents}

{Getting the best secret Santa present from my co-worker}

{Getting a new purse in time for Christmas}

{Spending Christmas Eve with my boyfriends family}

I am not going to lie; this week has been INTENSE.

With COVID cases on the rise, lots of plans have been pushed back, and I am dealing with some family stuff right now. Regardless of all the hard things happening, I am trying my best to focus on all the good and the blessings in my life. I find that one of the best ways to feel better about things not in my control is to do something nice for others.

I started my week with finishing up my Christmas shopping, and I was fortunate enough to go to Lido Marina in Newport Beach for a very special present for one of my friends. I also combined wrapping presents with some self care by putting on one of my favorite Christmas movies and drinking some spiked hot chocolate.

At work we did Secret Santa this year and I received the most thoughtful and perfect gift from my co-worker! I literally was so impressed by everything she got me and I can’t wait to use everything.

A week or so ago I did a little shopping for myself and bought this super cute sherpa purse from Target. I really don’t have very many purses for everyday use so I thought I would get a fun inexpensive one that I wouldn’t mind getting messed up. I think this one will be great all winter long.

I went into Christmas celebrating with my boyfriends family before my family’s celebration on Christmas Day. It was nice getting dressed up and going to a holiday party. I love the outfit I put together and it definitely put me in the Christmas spirit.

Before I sign off for the holidays, I just wanted to wish you all a very happy holiday season. Christmas can be both the most magical and the most hard time of year. I personally am feeling both. So for all you out there who are struggling, I just wanted to say that it’s okay to be not okay during the holidays and know that you are not alone. We all go through phases in life where the days are hard to get through. My heart is with all of you.

The holiday season at Disneyland and California Adventure is one of my favorite times of year. I love all the decorations, food, and all the feels I get when I walk through the parks.

One thing that is the best, especially for foodies, is the Festival of Holidays in DCA. I love hoping around to all the different carts trying all the food and drinks. I was super excited when I saw they brought back my favorite macaroon– the hot cocoa macaroon. If you plan on eating a bunch of items, I would suggest buying the sip-and-savor pass they offer.

I didn’t realize how much I need to be at Disney during the holidays until the last time I went. My boyfriend and I went for a few hours at night to see the fireworks, and get on as many rides as possible. To be able to stand on Main Street under the snap after the holiday firework show…let’s just say some tears were shed.

With the parks being closed last year and with my family (including myself) having COVID I didn’t get the usual Christmas magic I am use to. Being able to go this year did more for my heart and mental health than I can tell you. I can’t wait to go back in January to get in a little bit more magic before they take down all the decorations.

I love when Trader Joe’s brings out all the holiday items. There is nothing more fun than exploring the isles and finding some holiday favorites to add to my cart. I wanted to share with you which items I pick up every year around the holidays.

These are my favorite hot chocolate things EVER! You warm up some milk and just stir until they dissolve. The best part is that they are real chocolate and not a powder. So good, especially if you like rich and creamy cocoa. I usually keep these at work for cold winter days.

These are a great option for all of my fellow gluten free people who always miss out on the fun holiday flavors that Oreo always come out with during the holiday season.

These little bites of heaven came out a few years ago, but they were SO hard to get my hands on them. I didn’t actually get to try them until this year. All I can say is I am obsessed with them, and if you see them don’t even think twice– just put them in your cart.

These are a staple I keep at work during this time of year. They are so delicious and I really like they are not too pepperminty.

How cute are these lil guys?! I mean need I say more? These are the perfect addition to hot chocolate or coffee during the Christmas season.

These are an easy and fun way to shake up breakfast. They taste so good and I personally love them with a little bit of pepper and ketchup on top.

Tis the season for many, many charcuterie boards– at least in my life! I love the holiday cheese that is available at TJ’s during the month of December. My personal favorites are the stilton with fruit, lemon ricotta, and the cinnamon cheese. I recently picked up this fondue cheese blend and it is so good and easy!

I try to limit my dairy and this honestly is my favorite whipped cream. It is so creamy and light with a hint of coconut flavor.

These little marshmallows are the perfect topping to hot cocoa or ice cream. I love that the peppermint flavor isn’t too strong and the size is perfect.

What do you usually get during this time of year at Trader Joes? I would love to know so I can try it out for myself. Happy shopping!

{Receiving my Birthday cake and eating cake for breakfast everyday}

{Finding this cute blue sherpa tote bag and using it for work}

{Receiving some holiday happy mail}

{Going to Disneyland to start the holidays off}

{FINALLY finding my favorite cold brew and stocking up}

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I honestly can’t believe that the year is almost over and we are heading full steam into the holiday season. I’m honestly so excited for next month and to be able to soak up all the magic the season brings.

This week has been kind of crazy for me. I started off the week celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. I also FINALLY got my birthday cake, and I have been enjoying a slice a day (usually for breakfast…don’t judge haha). I treated myself to a new work tote bag that is perfect for winter. I have also been getting lots of holiday happy mail this week and it really makes me want to start doing all the Christmas things! I got to spend Thanksgiving at Disneyland with my parents, and later on in the day I spent some time with my boyfriend and his family. It was such a nice day and I very much enjoyed every second of it.

This past week I celebrated my birthday.

Usually, I am not one to do a lot for my birthday, but after last year I decided it was time I started celebrating myself. This year I did all the things that I love, and was not able to do last year.

I went to Disneyland, went to a concert, and treated myself to a Starbucks and a manicure. I also got treated to a birthday brunch to kick-off my birthday week. There were some plans that had to be pushed back for various reasons, so coming up I have a dinner, a haircut, and a birthday cake.

Being at Disneyland was probably the high-point for me because I did everything I would have never done before– I wore a dress, had a crown, asked for a birthday button, and welcomed all the attention. It honestly, was really nice and made my short trip a unique one. I will say, now that I have finally jumped on the birthday train, I now really want to celebrate one at Walt Disney World.

What do you normally do to celebrate your birthday?

The first half of November is my favorite because it’s when my birthday is! I love getting to spend time with all my friends and family and celebrate another year on this planet. One of the other things I absolutely love is all the birthday freebies and shopping.

I always treat myself to a Sephora order when I get my birthday freebie, and I thought I would share what I bought. I have been so busy lately that I haven’t really had the time to go pick up some things that I am out of or get some things that I have been really wanting to try out. During the past few months, I have really let my skincare fall through the cracks. Starting this month, I am no longer allowing that to happen which means I needed to pick up some skincare items as well.

One thing I have been searching for is a really good conditioner for my hair. I have tried the dae shampoo and conditioner before and I really liked it. After reading several reviews, I decided to pick up this hair mask. It smells so good and I love the thick texture of it.

I have been wanting to try this toner for a while now so I decided to take the plunge and buy it.

I recently was recommended this by a few of my co-workers and decided to pick it up as well.

With the weather starting to cool down, my lips have been so chapped and chapstick doesn’t seem to be helping. I have been a fan of Laneige for a while and decided to pick up this fun holiday set since I know Christmas is just around the corner.

This is another item I have been wanting for a hot minute. I finally decided to get it because I honestly need a quick foundation sometimes, and nothing is easier or more convenient than a powder foundation.

This perfume was 100% a want and not a need. As soon as I saw this on the website I knew I had to have it. It smells so good and I love the name Autumn Vibes.

This was a points redemption item. I have never tried Olaplex but have heard amazing things. Plus with my Dyson I am not putting more heat on my hair than I usually do so I feel like I’m going to need to be proactive with protecting it from damage.

And the reason why I splurged, my free birthday gift! I am so excited that it was a Laneige trio. I am so looking forward to trying out some of their skincare items.

This was a freebie bag of samples with a purchase of $25 or more. I really love the Sephora face masks and the rest of the items looked good so it was an add to cart moment for me.

And last but not least, here are the samples I received with my order. I am super excited about the Fenty Skin trio.

Well that is it, for now, and I hope you have enjoyed this mini Sephora haul. I cannot wait to continue the festivities for my birthday and share with all of you the things I have planned!

{Seeing Nightmare Before Christmas Live with Danny Elfman}

{Getting Halloween Crumbl cookies on a cold rainy day}

{Pumpkin carving date night}

{Enjoying fall coffee and my Halloween balloon from my last Disneyland trip}

{Getting a Dyson Airwrap for half off in the limited edition coloring}

Happy Halloween everyone!

This past week I have been soaking up all the Halloween fun as October comes to an end. I got to go to one of my favorite cookie places called Crumbl and enjoy their Halloween menu. The Monster cookie and the Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll cookie were my favorites!

I also have bought way too much coffee this week and shamelessly have been enjoying it with my Disneyland Halloween balloon in the mornings. I also had a very fun pumpkin carving date with my boyfriend. I decided to carve Oogie Boogie from the Nightmare before Christmas in honor of us seeing it live in Los Angeles.

We had tickets to see Danny Elfman and Billie Eilish perform Nightmare and it was so much fun! I honestly hated the Banc of California Stadium. The parking situation was horrendous and we ended up missing half the show.

I am very sad to see one of my favorite months come and go so quickly, but I am super excited to enter into my birthday month. With that being said, I treated myself to a very early birthday present and invested in a Dyson Airwrap. I loved the holiday limited edition color so much that I knew I had to have it.

Halooweentime at Disneyland is one of my favorite times to be in the park. Last year, due to the closure, I really missed walking down Main Street looking at all the pumpkins, and seeing all the colors of the fall season.

This year has been much busier than last, and I haven’t been able to go as many times as I would like. I went once in the morning and at night for a few hours to soak up some Halloween magic. I also went during the day for a much longer period of time. It was insanely busy all three times I went. Since I now have a Magic Key I feel so much less pressured to do everything, which TBH has been so freeing.

Much is the same in the park as far as the decorations, but nothing will replace the feeling of seeing the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street. It elicits so much joy and fun no matter how many times you have seen it before.

I am so excited to be going back for my birthday in about two weeks and then again for the holiday season! What is your favorite time of year in the parks?

Over the past month, I have been introduced and enthralled with the world of ACOTAR. Since being introduced to Velaris, and all things Night Court, I have been finding myself adding some new pieces to my closet to live out my daydreams of walking through the City of Starlight.

For those of you unfamiliar with ACOTAR, it is A Court of Thrones and Roses by Sara J. Maas. This series has quickly becoming one of my all time favorites, and it has been so long since I fell in love with a series. If you want to start reading, I highly recommend, BUT I will warn you that you can’t just stop at the first book!

I really wanted to find pieces that I could wear in everyday life (cosplay isn’t really my thing). I shopped a few different stores and took lots of inspiration from Pinterest. If you want to look at any pieces just click the link below the picture.

Here are my Night Court outfits:

Walking through the Rainbow

{ Mock Turtleneck | Corduroy Dress | Headband }

Reading in the Private Library

{ Sweater | Leggings }

Dinner in Velaris

{ Star Dress }

Training with Cassian

{ Asymmetrical Top | Faux Leather Leggings (Old) – Similar Here }

{Mesh Star Dress | Hair Pins }

If you have read ACOTAR, I would love to know who is your favorite Archeron sister and your favorite bat boy!

{Spending some quality time with my niece and reading poolside}

{Using my Stoney Clover Lane tote bag for the first time}

{Drinking out of this coconut while packing to come home}

{My first order from the Common Room- how gorgeous is this packaging?!}

{Perfecting an at-home pumpkin cream cold brew}

I started off my week with four days in Vegas babysitting my niece. We spent most our time sleeping in, drinking coffee and reading books– it was great! It also was the very first time I got to use this gorgeous Stoney Clover Lane tote bag which holds way more than I expected it to. Some highlights from my trip include drinking a Pina colada by the pool and drinking a stamped coconut while packing to go home. It felt like the official end to summer.

When I came home there was a lot of happy mail waiting for me! I got my first order from The Common Room. I have definitely been getting into the fall swing-of-things lately, especially when it comes to clothes and fun accessories. I would be lying if I said I hadn’t started decorating yet. Speaking of Fall things, I also perfected the pumpkin cream cold brew at home and could not be more excited.

I hope you lovelies have had a good week; it was definitely hard going back to work after a few days off. I am so excited for all the fun things coming up and for my favorite time of year. What is your favorite time of year?

So, I have been a little MIA lately.

This has not been intentional. I honestly have been working a LOT ( like 7 days one week, 6 days the next) and I am E X H A U S T E D.

Some weeks are better than others, but honestly I have been too tired to keep up with posting, life, and work. I feel like I blinked and August is almost over. We are quickly coming up to my favorite time of year and, starting now I am really going to prioritize putting time aside, not only for myself, but for this blog.

Since it has been a while since my last post here is the short version of some fun things I have done since my last post:

{I got to go to Disneyland again, and this time it was SO much better!}

{I went on a Warner Brothers Studio Tour, and got to go into the actual FRIENDS set}

{I went to breakfast at the Grand Californian hotel purely to eat Mickey waffles.}

{I went to a Minor League Baseball game.}

{I FINALLY got my car back after too many repairs.}

I am so looking forward to the Fall and Halloween season and for all the fun things coming! September is going to be a busy month for me, but I can’t wait to share with you what I have planned very soon.

Well the day has finally come. My work has reopened after a fifteen months due to the pandemic.

I work at a theatre venue, which meant stricter opening requirements. I honestly didn’t think we were going to reopen yet, but here I am back at work. This honestly happened at an unideal time for me because not only was I in the middle of finals (and graduation), but I no longer have a car. I know that I have not mentioned it much, but back in January my car was stolen. I received no compensation for it, and it’s a long story that I am not going to go fully into at this moment.

I am very fortunate that my manager is being very flexible with my schedule to accommodate my needs (and plans I had previously made). Unfortunately, we are understaffed due to people not returning to work for various reasons and I am working 40 + hours a week.

I am honestly very exhausted every day and it hasn’t been the smoothest transition. There are so many things that have changed because of COVID, it almost seems things change daily, but the biggest change has been me. I have grown a lot during quarantine as a person, and I have really discovered healthy boundaries for myself. Dealing with people who get mad at me for just trying to do my job is something that I no longer take stock in. Things like that use to really weigh heavy on me, but now I honestly can’t be bothered, and I am proud of myself for that.

While going back has not been the best, or easiest, it has really shown me how strong I have become mentally while being in quarantine.

To say that this was everything I needed and not what I expected would be an understatement. Being back was magical and amazing– everything my soul needed after these 15 months in lockdown. BUT, it was not at all what I had thought I had paid for.

I spent a lot of money on tickets (as everyone who bought tickets did). I was initially okay with this because I was under the impression that the capacity would be around 35%. It was not. Capacity was at 50% – 75% and it was heartbreaking for me. We were not able to do all the rides we wanted to do because every line was super long. Mid-way through the day I was feeling very disappointed, and slightly defeated. It also was unseasonably cold for June (we are talking a high of 66 and drizzling). I was miserable.

I did end up turning my mood around, and honestly just accepted the circumstances because there was nothing I could do to change them.

On the the good things…

We did a decent amount of rides and ate a decent amount of food. I had two churros which made me very happy. I started my day off with the tea cups and it honestly made me emotional sitting in my blue cup struggling to spin it. There were lots of character sightings including my absolute favorite, Stitch (who said he loved my ears). We also were able to secure a pass for Rise of the Resistance, and it was an amazing ride.

I spent a lot of time sitting and soaking in the sights and the sounds of my home away from home. It felt so good to be back and I can’t wait to go again.

After graduation I really wanted to do something to celebrate my hard work, and nothing sounded better than a relaxing trip somewhere. Being fully vaccinated, I feel way less anxious about traveling and being in crowds (totally 180 degrees from last year). My boyfriend and I talked about several places- Hawaii, Europe, New York, and Northern California. We ended up deciding on Laguna, California. We were really aiming for Hawaii, but by the time we decided to do it, flights were way to expensive,

I was actually okay with it and very excited to go to Laguna. I had never been before and all the pictures looked so beautiful. I did a lot of research about things to do, where to eat, and coffee places as well as asked for recommendations from friends. We originally were staying three days, but we had to cut the trip short because my work opened up and we couldn’t afford to stay longer than over night.

Even though it was a short trip, it was honestly so good! I didn’t feel deprived because everything that I really wanted to do we were able to do.

The Inn at Laguna | I really wanted something that was walkable to the beach and food places. I also wanted something with a nice looking pool and decent looking rooms. Don’t get me wrong, I have stayed in many a motel throughout my life but, for graduation I wanted something that felt special to me. The Inn not only was very cute, right on the beach, and had a dreamy pool, it was also very affordable (and allowed dogs). I highly recommend it if you are looking for a stay that is affordable but feels more expensive. We spent a few hours at the pool on our first night and it was so nice. I read a little bit, took a dip in the pool, and then spent some time in the jacuzzi before dinner. The best part was hearing the ocean from our room and the occasional meeting of a furbaby.

1000 Steps | Okay the name is intense. There aren’t really a thousand steps BUT the steps will kick your butt (especially if you are out of shape like me) going back up them. The plus side? the stairway is shaded and it leads to a beautiful beach. I honestly was talked into doing this. Did I die going back up? Yes. Am I still sore days later? Absolutely. Would I do it again? 100%. This was one of those things where you just have to commit to it because those steps are a workout but the beach is so beautiful. There are tide pools, caves, and lots of things to explore. We didn’t actually get to explore the cave because we weren’t there at the right time and the tide was too high.

Victoria Beach + Pirate Tower | This beach is a must do. It is a little bit harder to find but, it is totally worth it. My boyfriend was really skeptical about the tower being there because when you first enter the beach you can’t see it. It does require a climb over rocks to see it and to reach it. There is also an abandoned round pool that fills up with water before you hit the tower. Again, you have to be there at the right time for it to be filled. We were there in the morning, and it was empty. The tower is something out of a Disney movie. It is so magical, and we spent about an hour just hanging out around it. I highly recommend bringing water shoes with good grips on the bottom if you plan exploring. They were such a lifesaver and made it so easy to walk around the rocks.

Wild Taco | This was a recommendation and wow was it delicious! This was our first meal in Laguna and it exceeded our expectations. I had the carne asada, pollo aside, and the potato and black bean tacos. They all were mouth-watering. We also devoured a giant order of chips and salsa.

Laguna Coffee | This was the top priority coffee place I wanted to go to. You know it’s going to be good when there is a line of locals (including cops) out the door. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and it was very delicious. I also love the cups so much!

Heidelberg Cafe | This was another amazing recommendation. This was our last meal of the trip. We grabbed lunch before we headed home and I’m so glad we chose this restaurant. I ordered the wagu beef sliders and they were the best sliders I have ever had. The fries were also cooked to perfection– nice a crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We sat outside with a view of the ocean and soaked up every last second being in Laguna.

While I wish we could have stayed longer, being able to do pretty much everything we wanted to do was amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try out more food places, and explore some more beaches. I would also love to go back to 1000 steps and Victoria Beach at different times to experience what we were able to do this time.

Have you ever been to Laguna? If so, please leave some recommendations down below!

First of all, I can’t believe I am done with school. I have officially graduated, and honestly I never I thought I would. To clarify- I knew I would graduate, but I never thought I would go through another graduation ceremony. Back in 2019, I had made up my mind that I was not going to go through all the graduation things again. I had done it once, and honestly felt like I didn’t deserve to do it again and/or it wasn’t as special.

The pandemic changed everything.

At the start of 2020, I was still firm on not going to graduation. My best friend from school, and my boyfriend, were trying to convince me to do it but, I was being very stubborn. When everything with COVID hit and we went into lockdown, my mind started to change. Seeing everyone who had worked so hard not be able to do it was heartbreaking. They had no choice in the matter, and I honestly was emotional over it. So many seniors in high school and college were cheated out of their moments to celebrate.

I then started to think about myself, and how hard I had worked for this degree. This journey was not an easy one for me. I had essentially put my life on hold to go back to school, and worked full time to pay for classes. I deserved to celebrate that. Even though this was my second degree, this one meant more to me because of what I went through to get it. So I decided to attend graduation, but the only catch was that it might not happen because of the pandemic.

I am happy to report that I was very fortunate, and my school was given the green light to have a drive-in commencement.

We were able to bring however many fit in our car, and we were able to walk across a stage to our names being called. We were given special masks when we checked in, and of course had to remain socially distanced throughout the ceremony. It honestly was pretty nice, and I really liked how my school did everything given the circumstances.

This ceremony was definitely a very unique one, and one for the history books. I am incredibly proud of everything that has led to this moment in time. Even though this was not the ceremony I thought I would have, I wouldn’t change the experience for anything. There was so much love and happiness that day. Strangers honked and congratulated me from the streets, and at the ceremony everyone who saw me was so excited that I was graduating along side their loved one. It was truly very touching.

To all those who graduated this year, or last, congrats! Not even a pandemic could stop us!

{Starbucks but make it Star Wars}

{This cute little setup I made onto of our TV unit.}

{Having some fun Star Wars accessories on.}

{Getting my hair colored for graduation}

{Getting a delicious boba named after a Star Wars aircraft.}

Bright Suns! (IYKYK)

I am such a fan of Star Wars…and if it isn’t obvious, May 4th! This week every year is so crazy for me because I have May 4th, Cinco de Mayo, and my mom’s birthday all back-to-back. To say that I fully celebrate all three to the best I can every year would be an understatement. I had such a fun, and crazy busy, week.

On May 4th, I got my hair colored for the first time since 2019, so it is nice a fresh for graduation. I also celebrated May 4th with a Starbucks, a Thai fighter boba, Mediterranean food, and watching a mini Star Wars marathon. It was such a fun day where I got to put the stress of finals and graduation behind me (for the moment). I also had plenty of snacks that were Star Wars themed. I wish that I was able to be at Disneyland on the 4th but those tickets went faster than lightspeed the day tickets went on sale. I went all out with my favorite Star Wars shirt, a cute droid pop socket, and a super cute porg keychain.

Did you do anything fun for May 4th or in general during the week? I would love to hear about it, so leave me a comment down below.

I was fortunate enough to get tickets to A Touch of Disney. For those of you who don’t know, it is essentially the food and wine fest, but with food and drinks from around the Disneyland Resort. I spent a beautiful spring day walking around California Adventure eating food, and taking in all of the sights.

This day was honestly everything I needed in terms of Disney magic. The day we went, they were testing out all the rides for opening, and it felt so normal. There were moments I almost forgot the state of the world, and it was so refreshing. There were also several characters around (socially distanced) that made it so fun to just walk around the park because you never knew who you were going to find next!

The food items I loved the most were the Mickey berry waffles (I had 2), the papas street tacos, the lemon dole swirl cone, and the fluffed nutter churro. I also really enjoyed the frozen coke with jack. It was really refreshing after walking around in the sun for most of the day.

Being back in California Adventure definitely hyped me up for the parks re-opening at the end of the month. I honestly can’t wait to go back.

{Getting my first haircut in well over a year}

{Starting my 2021 garden, and finally planting some carrots}

{Doing the egg hunt at Downtown Disney}

{Spending lots of time with my favorite pup}

{Getting my first COVID vaccine}

Last week was my spring break, and I did the MOST to not waste a single second of my time. Not only did this break come right as I was feeling burned out with school and quarantine life, but it’s also my last spring break ever. As May and graduation quickly approaches, I have been soaking in every second of my student life. I recently came across a quote – “I will never have this version of me again. Let me slow down and be with her.” This quote is exactly how I feel right now, and has inspired me to enjoy every day because soon my life will be very different.

I started off my break at the beach with my boyfriend and the pup eating good food and taking in the sunshine. I also needed to get some pictures taken for my portfolio website so I have it ready to go when I start applying for jobs. Full dress details are in this post.

I also got my hair cut at the start of the week in well over a year. I cannot express how much my hair and my soul needed this. There is just something about going to the salon and coming out feeling like the main character that just can’t be beat. I’m so excited to be going back before graduation to get it colored.

Every spring I like to freshen up my patio, and add a few new additions. I have been wanting to plant carrots for years, and never got around to it. I finally pulled the trigger this year, and I can’t wait to see how they grow. I also added some herbs and a tomato plant. I’m hoping to add a few more, but I need some free time to go shopping which lately has been in short supply.

Probably one of the most exciting things I did was the Easter egg hunt at Downtown Disney. This egg hunt has been a family tradition for the past six-ish years (or however long the hunt has been going on for). Last year I was devastated with the parks being closed because we would spend every Easter Sunday hunting for eggs. I was THRILLED that I was able to do it this year.

At the end of the week I got my first COVID vaccine. I am so happy I did, even though I was sick the next day (talking 102.7 temperature). It was totally worth it, and I can’t wait to be fully vaccinated by the end of the month.

My Easter was very casual and low-key. I pretty much relaxed all day, ate lots of food, and played Animal Crossing. It was perfect!

The weather is warming up, and I am over wearing sweats (at least for the moment). Every time I am out, and about, I find myself wearing this Free People denim dress on repeat. I usually don’t go for flowy oversized dresses, but this dress is the exception! I love the stitching on the waist because it really gives the dress some definition and shape. I love pairing it with some fun sunglasses and sneakers. I would recommend sizing down in this dress if you don’t want it too oversized.

{Trying the new Starbucks drink that I am now addicted to}

{Discovering some new makeup products I am in love with}

{Some new sunnies for when the weather warms up}

{Jumping on the Nuimo bandwagon and loving it}

{Finding super cute Star Wars cupcakes, and having a movie marathon}

I’m not going to lie, January and February were ROUGH for me. Now that it’s March, I have been focusing a lot on myself because, well, I deserve it! I have been doing a good amount of self care everyday, and I am learning that it is okay to not be as motivated, as productive, or as scheduled as I normally am. This past week I have stepped away from my normal routines, and allowed myself to not feel guilty about it.

I have found that my preferred self care is treating myself to some things that bring me joy. I started off the week by trying the new Starbucks shaken brown sugar oat milk espresso drink, and instantly became addicted to it. I have had it almost every day #sorrynotsorry. I think that if you are an espresso lover you will absolutely love this drink, but if you aren’t big on coffee flavor, you will probably hate it.

I’ve done a few mini shopping sprees at Sephora lately too. I have been wanting to update my makeup routine, and have been in the mood to try new brands. I picked up some Charolette Tilburry, Rare Beauty, Farmacy and Laneige. So far I am loving every thing I bought, especially the Laneige lip balm and the Charlotte Tilbury foundation. I also added some drugstore products to my line-up and they are amazing.

I bought some cute affordable sunglasses for Amazon. I really wanted a fun accessory to spruce up my outfits, and these definitely add some flair I have been missing. I get so many compliments on the heart glasses and the round wire glasses every time I wear them.

I have been leaning hard into my Disney feels this week and I have been blessed with so much Disney news that it makes it worse– HA! For those of you wondering, yes I have tickets to “A Touch of Disney”, and yes I will be purchasing tickets for when the parks open. Until then, I have been loving my little Nuimos in my room (and these super cute accessories for Minnie). I also have been enjoying watching Star Wars with my boyfriend while enjoying these super cute treats from a local bakery.

I hope that if you are having a hard time right now, you are able to take a step back and just focus on you. Everyone has struggles, and just because yours might not be earth shattering, it doesn’t mean that they are any less important. Take care of yourselves no matter what that looks like to you and be unapologetic about it.

Sending nothing but good vibes your way!

Towards the end of 2020, Buena Vista Street at California Adventure re-opened for shopping and dining experiences. At the beginning of 2021, all dining was closed due to the stay-at-home order because of rising COVID-19 cases. Fast-forward to February where all dining has re-opened, and additional theme park snack carts are available.

Naturally I wanted to go, and this past week has been a struggle for me. My boyfriend decided to take me on a date to help boost my spirits, and give me some Disney magic that I have been missing so much. We spent the day shopping, eating, and walking around the front half of California Adventure. He bought me a mickey balloon, which honestly was the best! This was my first time getting one, and has brought me so much joy seeing it in my room everyday. It was a magical date, and it took me back to when we were first dating.

I may have done some shopping while I was there, but more than anything walking around made me really miss going to the parks when I need a pick-me-up. I felt very safe, and I think it’s a great escape from reality for a few hours. I honestly cannot wait for both parks to re-open, and get back to my Disney trips.

I can’t believe Valentines day is already here. It is one of my favorite holidays because who doesn’t love to celebrate love? Obviously things are very different this year, but I also think it’s a great opportunity to take a step back, and celebrate the way you want to without too much pressure. My boyfriend and I saw this as an opportunity to have a chill Vday with a delicious charcuterie board, and a whole lot of Netflix.

The best part about charcuterie boards is you can literally put anything on them and it looks amazing! We opted for mostly cheese and two meats with a small selection of crackers. We also popped some champagne and bought flowers to feel festive.

My boyfriend and I had a fun trip to Trader Joe’s where we spent far too much time standing in front of the the cheese selection. We usually don’t get the chance to see each other on Valentine’s Day, but this year we are making up for lost time by celebrating two days in a row. How are you planning on celebrating Valentine’s Day? I hope whatever you have planned, that you are able to enjoy delicious food and good company (even if it’s virtual).

{Making mulled wine over a fire, and watching Muppets Christmas Carol}

{Baking cookies in matching jammies}

{Having a Nutcracker date night complete with charcuterie}

{Christmas dinner with my immediate family}

{Spending loads of time with this precious girl)

This week has been a great week. It literally was a condensed version of December, but in one week. My boyfriend and I have spent every day doing the Christmas things we had planned to do in December before Christmas (pre-COVID). We have a handful of Christmas traditions that we have done since we started dating, but since Christmas was delayed I wanted to amp things up a bit to make them feel more special.

We had our annual Muppets Christmas Carol movie night, but this year we watched it outside on a projector, made mulled wine and had a fire pit. It was the best way to kick things off, and now there is no watching it any other way! I always watch the Nutcracker ballet during December. This year I decided to include my beau, and got him to agree with the promise of champagne and charcuterie. He isn’t much of a ballet person, but I think I changed his mind this year.

Towards the end of the week we had our version of Christmas Eve on Wednesday. We celebrated by wearing matching pjs, making waffles, baking Christmas cookies and watching the Grinch (another movie tradition). It was a good day well spent, and it really made it feel like it was Christmas even though we are almost through December. On Thursday we had our Christmas dinner followed by presents. My household had not opened a single present until we had our “official Christmas day”.

I think one of my favorite things has been spending so much time with Wendy. I was not able to see her all of December as well as a good part of January. We’ve spent a lot of time this week playing, snuggling and there have been lots of treats.

At the start of this month, I took a good hard look at my makeup collection. I was shocked to discover that I had run out of a lot of products, and a lot was expired. I knew I needed to place an order (or three) to replace the essentials before school started back up for me at the end of the month. Since SoCal is still in full lockdown mode, I don’t really have the need for heavy makeup. I decided to go for easier products to upgrade my routine and be ready quicker.

I really did not want to purchase another foundation. I have about three, in carrying shades, that are just too heavy for a few hours on zoom. I really wanted something a little lighter, but still has some coverage. I opted to go for this CC cream because I have heard nothing but raves. I ordered light, and while it’s a little darker than I anticipated, I find it works well with a lighter concealer. I love how quick and seamless this product is.

This is not the first time I have tried this mascara. I am such a fan of it because it is so easy to remove. I don’t think it makes my lashes look the very best I have ever seen, but it does the job for every day wear.

I have never tried this before so I only purchased the travel size. The primer I had previously been using (and loving), I literally cannot find ANYWHERE. I think it was discontinued *insert tears*. It took me soo long to find a primer to keep my oils at bay, but here I am on the search again. So far I do like this primer, but it isn’t as good as my previous primer.

This is my holy grail powder, and if it ever gets discontinued I will full on be devastated. It works so great for my oily skin, and it smells divine.

I have used this bronzer for many years. Mine was so old and used that it was time to get a new one. I could only find it in the shade light, but I actually really like it for a more subtle everyday look. I also LOVE the smell of this!

I am so happy to have some new makeup, and I’m even happier that I have products that will be quick and easy once I get into that daily Zoom grind for school. Have you minimized your makeup routine for 2021? I would love to know your go-to products!

It still seems so surreal to be typing this– I had COVID-19.

In this post I talked about how I was exposed to COVID. I stayed in isolation for 10 days, but I caught it from an unexpected source. At the beginning of my isolation, I asked my parents to do a small grocery shop for me so I could live out of my room. A few days after they dropped off my stuff, I noticed that they were staying home from work. I called to ask why and was met with “we are just tired.” I trusted that it was just them working too hard, but I really shouldn’t have. They stayed home for days, and I noticed them starting to cough, sleep all the time and not eating very much. I instantly became worried. I urged them both to go get tested.

At the end of my 10 day isolation I developed a sore throat. I got tested the next day, and a day later I received a positive result. My anxiety went through the roof to the point that I was feeling more unwell from the anxiety than the COVID. I did two things– ask my boyfriend to do a Target run for me and tell my parents they had to go get tested.

Both of my parents were positive for COVID, and I contracted it from them. The week of Christmas my dad was admitted to the hospital for Pneumonia and COVID. It was a hard week, but we were relieved that there was room for him, and he was getting the care he needed. My mom and I recovered at home.

I was extremely lucky that my symptoms were very mild. I only experienced loss of taste and smell, along with fatigue. My dad is still in the recovery phase for his Pneumonia, and was not so lucky with what he experienced.

As I write this I am fully recovered.

I had a large lack of posts in November and December– this is why. Now that we are in a new year, I am going to be more active on here. I still plan on doing a Christmas post even though it is late. I am choosing to do this because I started this blog to tell my story (and for travel, but that never happened). My Christmas got postponed because of COVID, but I have every intention of still celebrating and sharing with you all.

I hope you all had a lovely holiday season, and I can’t wait to celebrate!

As 2020 comes to an end (finally), I have been reflecting on a lot of different things that have happened throughout the year. 2020 had a myriad of challenges, triumphs and surprises. Part of me feels like we are still in March back when everything shut down, and part of me is so ready to begin anew. It is easy to think about all the bad that has happened this year, but TBH I am thankful for all the lessons I have learned. Some were easier than others, but they all really put things into perspective.

At the beginning of quarantine I had a very un-ideal set-up at home. I had no desk for school, my living room was extremely dysfunctional and I was struggling mentally with being stuck inside. After I decided to purchase what I needed, and spruce up what I had, my life was all the better for it. I found I was much happier and I was able to accept my situation after I was happy with the rooms I inhabited.

This is something that I had struggled with for years. I have a chronic back condition, and there are days where I literally can’t move for hours at a time. Every time I stopped to just rest in bed, I always felt that I was doing myself a dis-service because I wasn’t being “productive”. This year has definitely taught me that resting is not only good for my mental health, but also it is productive for my body.

This was one of the biggest take-aways from 2020. I can handle much more that I like to give myself credit for. I have survived a lot of things, especially this year, that I didn’t think I would be able to handle. My mind often gets the better of me, but it is time that I start living up to my potential, and realize that I can handle anything life throws at me.

I cannot get anything done when I am around a mess. Quarantine at my house has definitely seen some really messy days, and in those days I was extremely unmotivated to do a single thing. When I am surrounded by a clean space, I am much more likely to do what I need to do instead of sitting on the couch binging Netflix.

I use to be so embarrassed by my hoarding of these things, but no more. I never once ran out of soap or hand sanitizer during 2020. It was such a blessing to not worry about sanitization on the go. I also learned that candles are very comforting to me. I blew threw my stash early on, and stocked up again mid-year.

I am the type to only replace computers and phones when they are on their last leg. I fortunately had upgraded both in 2018/2019 and I am so thankful I did. I can’t imagine how stressed I would be if my laptop and/or phone were on their last leg this year when everything went virtual. I probably would have cried a lot more. I am an avid Apple fan and people would always judge me for wanting “boogie” technology, but I always would respond with it’s worth it to know my products will last. I stand by that more than ever.

During this year I mostly never left my house. The one place I would visit consistently was the grocery store. TBH if I was still working I would never had gone as frequently as I did in 2020 because I would be eating out way more. I realized that I love buying produce and cooking. I really enjoy making meals and getting creative with leftover produce. Don’t get me wrong, I still love eating out, but I am perfectly okay eating out less.

I have never been the best at self care because I always felt too busy to do it. This year really forced me to lean into self care with all the hard things I faced. I have learned that it’s okay to not be okay, and that it’s okay to do what ever makes you feel better. I personally have treated myself more to home decor, jewelry, and Disney related items this year. These things gave me joy daily and therefore an investment into my self care. On days when I felt overwhelmed, I could pull out a straw charm and Disney cozy to put on my coffee and I instantly was happier. It’s all about doing little things for yourself to make your soul happy and stay sane.

My anxiety was pretty much a roller coaster ride in 2020. There was so much unknown that we all faced this year, and for me it caused several spirals into anxiety. I have learned to accept that it’s okay to fear the unknown and that when I am feeling anxious it’s okay because these are hard times. I learned that there will be days where I am perfectly fine and there will be days I am not. It’s all part of the journey and every time I come out of an anxiety spiral I grow and get stronger.

I remember back in March the first time I went to the grocery store after lockdown. I had a travel sized pack of wipes with me. I was standing outside wiping down the cart handle when a lady walked up and realized there were no more wipes in the store’s dispenser and started to walk away. I called out to her and offered her a wipe from my pack. She burst into tears and thanked me. It was one of the most powerful things I experienced this year. Something so simple as giving a lysol wipe to a stranger was so meaningful to them. I will be honest, I am rarely on the receiving end of random kind acts, but I actively try to do them everyday for strangers. When I became sick with COVID, I was most definitely on the receiving end, and it made me very emotional. When people care, it is a very powerful thing.

I am not one to really make New Years resolutions, but I have always been a fan of reflection for the new year. 2020 has definitely taught me a lot about myself. I hope you all are staying safe, and are able to leave behind all the bad things this year has brought. There is hope that things will be better soon. I truly believe that we have the ability to make 2021 a better year.

– Lyndsay

It still seems surreal as I type this– I was exposed to COVID. As soon as I learned that I was in close contact with someone who had COVID, who wasn’t aware that they had been exposed until it was too late, I did two things. First– I scheduled myself a COVID test through my healthcare provider (more on that in a bit). Second– I grabbed some essentials and locked myself away to limit exposure from those I live with.

Due to this year, I have been actively working on my room, and making it as cozy and nice as possible (aka without breaking the bank). This worked in my favor because being stuck in my room would have been much more miserable if I had not made it enjoyable to be in. Since we are in the middle of the holiday season I had already put in some Christmas decorations, which TBH has been good for my mental state. When I got the call that I could possible have COVID I grabbed (with a gloves on) these items:

  • the Keurig from the kitchen
  • various snacks that did not require cooking or refrigeration
  • things to keep me entertained
  • my large Brita from the fridge
  • reusable cups
  • trash bags
  • extra supplies for my bathroom (tp, Kleenex, towels, ect.)
  • a large reusable bottle

As soon as I grabbed these things and put myself in lockdown, I called those who I lived with and filled them in on what was happening. They agreed to not touch my bedroom door or my bathroom door, and to contact me through texts and phone calls only. I also encouraged them to go get tested as well.

Speaking of testing, I went to go get tested the day after I heard the news. I impatiently waited two days for my results and when they finally came in…I was extremely annoyed. I got an inconclusive result. INCONCLUSIVE. They can’t tell if I have it or don’t have it. This was extremely frustrating. I have another test scheduled, and hopefully I will get a negative result.

So here I sit five days in, watching lots of Christmas movies from various streaming services, and trying to remain calm. I am taking lots of vitamins, resting, and trying not to get bored or anxious. I will be completely honest– it sucks. It is Christmas, and I had many plans with my boyfriend to do several Christmasy at-home dates, but we can’t do any of that now (at least for the time being). On the upside I am very fortunate that I have no symptoms, and I am able to be very isolated from others. If you want a more detailed post about the specifics of what I have or how I set up my room, leave me a comment down below. It’s been a very interesting transition, and if I can help any of you out there who do not have anyone to rely on right now for food (like myself), I would be so happy to share with you what I have done.

This year while I have been in quarantine I have spent a lot of time paying attention to my wardrobe. I have been constantly purging, and purchasing. As fall rolled around I realized that I didn’t really have any pieces for the season. A lot of my pre-quarantine work clothes have been either donated or tossed out. This gave me the opportunity to buy some new pieces including this super cute, and comfy skirt. I recently saw this online at Target, and knew I had to have it. I love that it is neutral with a pop of red which means it can work for both fall and winter. Win-win!

I love styling it with some combat style boots and a cropped black tee. It is perfect for when the weather is not really cold, but when you want to feel the fall fashion spirit. What pieces have you added to your fall wardrobe lately?
